First of all I thank God for giving me an opportunity to serve the society. With the whole hearted satisfaction I have done my best to the society and the club. As an Information Technology Chairman, I have flourished the club not only in the District but also all through the World by the creation of the club web site. I proudly bring to your notice, the glimpses of the services and developments done under my leadership in the lionistic year 2001-2002.

1. Youth Surge, Leadership Development and Personality Development programmes were conducted at the Government Higher Secondary School, Ariyakudi, S.A. College, Devakottai, Saratha College for Women, Amaravathiputhur and Alagappa University, Karaikudi.

2. Two Eye Camps are conducted at Amaravathiputhur and Kuthaloor.

3. E.N.T, Dental, Eye Screening and General Health Checkup Camps are conducted at the Government Higher Secondary School, Ariyakudi, Saratha College for Women, Amaravathiputhur and at K.Chockalingamputhur.

4. Creation of Web site and E-mail Id for the club.

5. Two Hoardings are placed at Koviloor and Alagappapuram.

6. In the Town and Alagappapuram 4 Sign Boards are erected.

7. 10 Saline Stands and 10 Dust Bins were donated to the Government General Hospital, Karaikudi.

8. One Stretcher with wheels and 5 Saline Stands were donated to the T.B.Sanatorium, Somanathapuram.

9. One Labour Table presented to the Primary Health Center, Muthuppattanam.

10. Constructed Two Passengers’ Shelters at O.Siruvayal and Alagappapuram.

11. Two Water Tanks are constructed at the Saraswathy Elementary School and Government High School for Girls, Muthuppattanam.

12. Apart from giving one Sewing Machine to a needy women, recommended three women to the Social Welfare Department of Tamilnadu Government for giving Sewing Machines.

13. One Tricycle contributed to a handicapped student of Kandanur.

14. One petrol motor donated to a poor richshaw walla.

15. Awareness Programmes on `Jaundice’ and `Road Safety’ are organized at the Alagappa University College of Education, Karaikudi.

16. In Alagappa University, Alagappa Polytechnic and in selected 14 Schools at Karaikudi completed the course of the “Hepatitis – B” Vaccination.

The number of members increased from 34 to 39 during this lionistic year 2001-2002.

On the basis of the District Ranking Lions Club of Karaikudi Select stands 7th place in the Administration and 18th place in the Activities; amidst the town clubs stands 2nd in the Administration and in the Activities and in Zone (Zone-12) Level the club stands First in both.

The awards, `Best President Award’, `Excellence Club Award’(Administration 9th rank in the District for the completion of calendar of events) and `Governor’s Appreciation Award’(in recognition of conducting Hepatitis-B vaccination camp and club web site), are given by the Lions Clubs International Dist.324 B3 at Madurai (18-8-02) for the Leadership of the Lions Club of Karaikudi Select (2001-02).

For the Lionistic year 2002-03, appointed as District Chairman for Lions Web Site by the Governor(2002-03).

Last but not least I thank the Lions, Institutional Members and the Public who extended their co-operation for the success of my leadership.
